The Eyes Have It! Days In The Sun's Rays #eyehealth

Spring and Summer Days in the Sun's Rays: Budding flowers and baseball games are a sight for sore eyes after a long winter - but don't forget to protect your eyes as you enjoy the great outdoors

Don't Be Fooled By Cloudy Days
Even when the sun’s rays are hidden behind the clouds it can still shine through illusive shade

  • Light eyes have long term risk
    • People with light colored eyes are at increased risk for certain eye diseases as their eyes contain less of the protective pigment melanin
  • Protect yourself from a perennial problem
    • Pack a hat with at least a 3” brim that can block up to half of all UVB rays from your eyes and eyelids and to protect your eyes and your scalp from the sun
    • Peak times for direct sunlight are generally 10 am-3 pm, so limit or avoid sun exposure during these hours.
You need more than just sunglasses to protect your eyes this summer, check out this informative Infographic that explains so much more!
Thank you to our friends at Frames Direct and Now Sourcing for this awesome health education.
